A moment of realization

As we all know Call of duty black ops: Declassified wasn't a good game, that didn't stop it from selling well ,but it wasn't a good game. Watching the trailer for I don't know the fifth time I noticed something very important try to see if you notice it too.

Did you? Well if you didn't guess what in that trailer not a single person on screen got a kill, pretty unbelievable considering the fact that was a game with decent sales. I'm not one of those people who constantly bash on COD, but that's ridiculous  a game like this could sell 280,000 even though it received such negative scores and was able to  be considered a successful game.

Its in no particular order just some soundtracks I enjoyed.(It had two soundtracks)

Also here are some reasons of why these were on the list.

Songs like these in games showed that most games did deserve a best score and hopefully in the future more people will realize that.

What kind of superhero name is that?

In 1977 Tony iseballa and Trevor Von Eeden came up with a great idea, give a black man the powers of lightning and call him probably the dumbest thing I have ever heard.  Are you ready? His name was....

  • Q: Am I black?
  • A:Yes
  • Q: Am I offended by this name.
  • A:No
  • Q: Do I find this name stupid
  • A: Yes

Please know I really don't read comic books too often, so I don't know much about the lore of most any comic book characters. The original idea for Black lightning was, "The black bomber" he was scraped because he was racist towards white people.

Again.

This name though is just the most unoriginal name I have ever heard. The reason for DC putting "Black" before lightning  was obviously because they wanted to show that they had a "dynamite" and "far out" African American superhero! I would guess that his the first release of his comic was a big deal, in the 70's he was the first DC's first black superhero and he was actually cool. I like Black lightning he has cool powers, he can control electricity, he can fly ( a little bit), create force fields, and he knows martial arts and competes in the Olympics. Above all he inspired Static Shock and he's cool and doesn't have a stupid name.

That's cool.

I leave you with a few pictures of black lightning that I thought would be a good idea to end this blog with.

All-stars tier list

$

0

Tier list don't mean anything, especially not this one since its from what I've seen and personally feel. If their is a character at a poor spot that your great with, its fine I put my favorite character Jak in D tier, but I have reached the rank of black belt with him ( a little bit with PaRappa too and a little spike) and got 250 plus wins with him, so don't worry about it, keep on rocking with that character and everything's gonna be alright.

  Kratos

S Tier. Kratos has excellent supers and can generate AP faster then most characters. Probably the most popular all-stars character. Times I saw win: Alot

Raiden

S tier: Has excellent supers, extremely agile, generates AP very well. Very popular all stars character. Times i saw win: Alot

                                                                                                  Sackboy

Before:S tier: Now: E tier.  COULD, generate AP better than most, has the games best level three super. WAS a very popular all-stars character. Times I saw win: INCREDIBLE

Cole MacGrath

A tier: very good supers, decent melee, excellent ranged attacks. Popular character. Times I saw win: good amount

Evil Cole MacGrath

A tier: Very similar to Good cole. (surprised?)

Dante

A tier: Good supers, strong melee attacks, decent range, fast, doge well, great combos. Popular.

Drake

Ive played as drake before and he's not my cup of tea. He doesn't have  attacks that are to my play style. A tier: Excellent supers, Generates AP well. Popular all-star. Times I saw win: good amount

Sly cooper

A tier: Has the games best level one super, can turn invisible. Popular all-star. Times I saw win: Many times

PaRappa

PaRappa is a very big character for me, he was my number one character in the beta, he was a great started character for me, he was my profile picture for a long time on IGN. I moved onto to Jak because I wanted to try someone new.

B tier: Has the best level two, excellent level one, he is extremely close ranged, but has excellent melee attacks. Generally popular character. Times a I saw win: good chunk.

Ratchet and clank

B tier: Good AP build up, OP level one, good level two, great level three. Very poor melee. Very Popular character.

Fat Princess

B tier: very good level one and two. Not to popular. Times I saw win: few

Nariko

B tier: Good level one, so-so level two, devastating level three. Times I saw win: good chunk. Popular

Toro

C tier: Very poor supers, does not have very strong attacks. Times I saw win: very few. One of the least popular characters.

Sir Daniel

Very poor supers, extremely slow, sluggish attacks. Times I saw win: once. One of the least played characters.

Heihachi Mishima

A character with potential, I have not seen anyone reach that potential with him. Untill then I have to put him in

C tier: good level one, level two is bad because of bad AI, strong. Times I have seen won: Few.  Unpopular character.

Spike

Another character I have a personal experience with, he is a very strong character, but this game is about kills and spike has some of the worst supers. Don't get me wrong I have more wins than losses with spike, but its tough to line up attacks.

C tier: Slow level one, level two can easily be side dodged, a bit slow. I personally feel that he need's to be patched, for the better.  sorry oreo ;C.

Big Daddy

D tier: He does have very good level ones, twos and excellent three, but I just don't see people getting them. Unpopular,  times I saw win few.

Jak and Daxter

My main character, he's the reason I finished as a black belt, it was tough to learn to use him, but when I did I enter every match with a strong feeling i'm going to win.

D tier: Has a level one that can't be used directly, his level two gives a huge AP refund, although has a very short range  (about one large platform), his level three is a bit hard to master, He is probably the hardest character to master who isn't under powered. One of the least popular characters. Times I saw win: not very much ( other than me)

E tier: Good supers, but everyone's over the sniper thing now. Times I see win: rarely, popular for a time.

Sweet tooth

E tier: Good level one, poor level two, one of the games best level three's, but again hes that character who has great potential. I know it, but I just don't see it. Times I saw win: few, Unpopular.

To help with this blog! I'm positive everyone has a different all-stars tale to tell, so in the comments tell me how you feel about other characters and where they should rank, thanks for your time.

A blog header

So how do you make one, I don't think it matters or anything, but all the cool kids have one except me. And I wanna be one of the cool kids.

If someone made me a blog header *hint* or taught me how to make one *wink*, I would probably do something with PaRappa, but alas no one wants to make me one* hint hint* and no one wants to teach me how to make one *wink wink* so now every time I make a blog I know someone on their computer is going to look like this.

I would look like this if someone gave me a blog header or taught me ( you guys are getting the hints and the winks right?)

But until them I'm looking like this

Q: were there too many memes in this blog.

Im feelin something special

I just played the beta of Dust 514, I played it for less than five minutes, but im feelin that im going to enjoy it. I don't know why it just felt right to play. I don't really have a knack for FPS especially not free to play games , But I can see myself playing this game in the near future, especially since it's free. I really haven't seen all that the game has too offer, you know only playing it for a few minutes. My few complaints were matchmaking took a little to long and I really have no idea what im doing right now. If anyone wants to play it with me @BountyButterfly my in game name is superdude200ify.

The most important part of a game.

$

0

If you ask me (which you didn't) the most important part of any game is the game itself. This seem's pretty obvious, but I know alot of people who won't play a game because of it's story, how it looks and sometimes it's soundtrack. Personally I hate this kind of nitpicking, of course with those other aspects a game can be much better, but its important to focus more of your time on the gameplay. I have a few examples of this, Valkyrie Chronicles has great gameplay, good music solid graphics and a wonderful story. Most importantly, it has great gameplay, think of it this way I would not have loved this game as much if not for the story, soundtrack or graphics, but I would not love this game at all if the gameplay was not good.

A perfect example of what I want in a game.

This was awesome too!

Couldn't leave this one out!

Of course there are some games that I have played that don't take gameplay to heart, ICO does have a good soundtrack and the game looks amazing, but the actually game (I personally feel is terrible). The platforming is very poor, combat feels like mashing the square button, it has a very strange button layout and that girl is just annoying. Or better yet look at sonic 0'6 that game had a great soundtrack, the CGI cut-scenes look like something right of a block buster movie, but the actually game was just terrible.

Avoid this game like the plague.

If they focused much more on the game i'm sure I would have enjoyed this.

In the end a game missing a good story or soundtrack or graphics doesn't make it a bad game, its the gameplay that makes it a good game. Heres a few games that don't have a good soundtrack or story that are still very good.

It has a good soundtrack, the story mode is boring, but In multiplayer this game is amazing.

Im not even sure if this has a story and haven't heard a single track in this game, but its great and that's great!

So in the end don't pass on a game because it's story is bad, or it doesn't look good and the music is not good. You should pass on a game because the game is not good.

One of my favorite game series: Sly Cooper

$

0

The Sly series has always been a great series for me, all the games offered a great sense of variety, the music was great, the graphics were good, and most importantly it had great gameplay (you know why that's most important http://www.ign.com/blogs/superdude200ify/2013/01/27/the-most-important-part-of-a-game) With Sly Cooper thieves in time almost here I see it appropriate to write why I loved the series.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

The game that started it all, I had played this game at my cousins house and loved it, I was very reluctant to leave his house after playing this game. The platforming was good, but it wasn't really stealth based. The level's weren't at least and I only noticed a few times where you had to sneak past guards. The story of sly one stood out to me the most, sly's mother and father is killed by the fiendish five, a group of criminals formed to kill the cooper family, they rip out pages of the book and reside at their criminal headquarters. Sly at the age of eight vows avenge the coopers and restore the book *sounds familiar*, the plot in this series isn't exactly top notch, but it seems to take gameplay and music over story.

What I liked: I found it awesome of how different this game was from the ones I usually played, if you collected clue bottles you could get new powers. It was the game that raised the popularity of suckerpunch.

What I disliked: It was a little too short, the hub worlds were a little boring, the story was a bit generic, cheesy dialogue.

Sly 2: Band of thieves

My favorite game of the series, unlike the first game, it focuses more around the team rather than 98% sly and a few missions for Bentley and Murray. Sly 1 had a few mini games, but now there are three main ways to play, Sly the thief  having to stay out of enemy eyesight, Murray the muscle, able to battle in big brawls  and Bentley the brains, using gadgets and his intelligence to contribute to the team. Everything felt right to do in this game, platforming, sneaking past thugs as sly, planting bombs are Bentley, picking fights with Guards as Murray. Sly 2 made abilities seem more important to the series, with the inclusion of thief net a store where you can buy new skills and attacks, it made the game much more enjoyable. This game was just an amazing experience for me a great reason to pick up the collection, for any platform enthusiast or anyone looking to find a great series.

What I loved: Even though its called "Sly Cooper", it focuses more on the group rather than sly. The story was much better than sly 1, also there was a great characters development, Murray wasn't a coward anymore, he could actually do thing's and Bentley actually did thing's now and his field missions where pretty fun, the bosses all had interesting backstories.  I was a game that was actually stealth based. (That I plated that is)

What I disliked: It ended, the clue bottles were hidden in some tough places, you could not replay missions.

Sly 3: Honor among thieves

People call this the worst sly game, which is the wrong thing to call it since they are all good. Its better than one but sly two is definitely better than this one. The game stayed true to sly two, sly is the stealthy character, Bentley is the character with the gadgets, Murray is the strength character, but It didn't come together as good.  Within the game they introduced new characters like the guru, Penelope, and now former enemies panda king and Dmitri joined the group. It seemed to be interesting, but there were to many characters that you rarely played as anyone others than the main three. There was about one mission for those characters in each episode, but there were to many characters for all of them to get a good amount of gameplay. There were some cheap deaths with in the game, the hub worlds felt extremely boring being large, but not much to do in them. They removed clue bottles in this game, making the player have to collect coins to get skills for thief net. Possible hate for this game was suckerpunch used the same engine of sly two that was modified, but In the end it turned out to be a solid game.

What I liked: The minigames were better in his game, the new characters were pretty interesting.

What I disliked: It showed that the series was losing steam, to many lead characters, they removed the clue bottles.

I have been worrying about the series, there hasn't been a sly game for seven years since three and sly four is being done by sanzaru not suckerpunch. I was worried, it has happened in the past that a company hands over a franchises and it turns out to be absolute garbage.

I'm looking at you high impact games.

Watching the live stream of thieves of time playing the demo, put me to rest. The live stream showed that they didn't ruin the series like how high impact games did Jak & Daxter and it made the ancestors an even more important part of the story. I'm still a little worried, but I know that this game won't be a game that I over hyped.

Thanks for your time.

The hidden evil of the PS4 share button.

$

I remember watching a video from a youtuber BroKenGaMezHD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYt-L9a9VD4Think the video was about how the PS4 would have recording and sharing features. It was very doubtful that the PS4 would have such a function ( I also Doubted that they would show the PS4 on the 20th look were that got me) but it turns out that PS4 does have thoese features and I feel that this will bring an absolute storm upon the gaming community.  Think of all the absolute garbage gameplay video's you've seen online, how pointless they were, how they were an absolute waste of your time. For people to commit such a crime they need some cheap camera for at least $30, Now think of all the garbage you will see with the PS4's share button that just ANY PERSON can use! It's a pretty scary thought, but with that share button it will be possible for people to make more pointless video's and send them onto the internet. Look at people like PewDiePie or IJustine although they must have expensive recording sets, their video's get so many views when they put so little effort into them.

These two "video makers" put so little effort in their videos and get so many views off of people, how is that fair?

The system will be unreasonably more expensive. The recording features do not seem to be basic features, it will definitely put a bigger hole in all over our pockets, I won't be a hypocrite I can see myself using the share button and maybe make my own lets play channel, but I would rather have the system cheaper than to have the share functions. Of course some good can come from this, there actually are people who do lets plays and commentaries because they love the game, not just for money. People who are actually respectable like AVGN, Chuggaconroy, Jontron, Egoraptor, Yuriowind to name a few. In the long Run i just see this feature being abused so much, I didn't get to watch the complete livestream so if there is anything I left out please feel free to tell me.

Diablo III issues?

I just followed Diablo 3 and it seems like a cool game, the last dungeon crawling game I played was torchlight, which was awesome but since I have a phobia of PC gaming I did not buy. The reviews iv'e seen of Diablo  gave it high marks, but I always read how the players say how much it sucks and what not. When this comes out on the PS4 and PS3, I don't want to end a buying a bad game. If anyone has had any experiences with Diablo 3, please tell me what you feel about it.

A list of games I plan on buying before PS4

$

With the PS4 being released in less than a year, i'm sure any Sony fan is excited and i'm no exception. But before I buy the PS4, I think there are still a bunch of PS3 games more than worth visiting, so I personally feel like I need to play these games before buying a PS4.

Starhawk was one of those games I was really excited for, but just ended up forgetting about it. I don't know why I forgot about it, but after downloading the PlayStation-all-stars DLC, seeing Emmett Graves was like a jolt from the past. I remembered again why I was excited for this game.  It was a Sci-fi game with Western elements and, I'm sure its been done before, but it really looked like Light-box pulled it off exceptional well. From what I've heard from others, the story is not the best, but the actual game is great. Not to mention the game has some sublime music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y82N0m-Re6U

I've always been a big fan of the Sly Cooper series but after playing Sly 3, the franchise left a bad taste in my mouth, not because it was a bad game, but it revealed that the series was losing its steam. After a seven year pause, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time was finally released and I would be finally be able to play as the thevious raccoon again. I could tell that Sanzaru improved upon the series with this installment. Instead of comic book like cuts, it now had fully animated scenes. I thought this was a really awesome transition, it actually looked like a full fledged animated show. The graphics and soundtrack also got better, but I don't know about the gameplay since I haven't played it yet.

I'm no stranger to Uncharted-- Uncharted I and II were games I adored beyond all belief, but I just never got around to picking up III. I kinda got discouraged after all the negative reactions fans had towards the game, for example: The villains were boring, the set pieces weren't as good as two, the multiplayer is unbalanced, etc. But at the end of the day, I think I need to decide for myself.

Scott pilgrim is a comic book series I hold dear to my heart, it had lovable characters, a great sense of humor and a heart warming ending. When I found out that it had a video game (That is good) I just knew I had to play it! After playing the demo, I loved it immediately, the music was awesome and I loved the beat-em style of gameplay. I was considering to skip the game since it was 3-6 hours long, but like I said before, gameplay is the most important part of a game and it doesn't matter how long the game is as long as you enjoy it.

Yeah, I know  Dust 514 "sucks" (I don't think it does), but I feel like I really need to spend some money on Dust 514, i've been spending hours playing for free and enjoying almost every second of it. I've gotten some of the best possible gear and even after about 4 months, i'm still a long way from getting all of the gears and skills I see fit. I want to spend at least twenty dollars on the game, since i'm enjoying it so much.

A very long time ago, I played the Jak and Daxter games for a few minutes, but for the few minutes I played them I thought they were awesome! The levels in the game looked very gorgeous, the soundtrack is pretty good and at the price of twenty dollars, I can't miss out on this. Also its been remastered is HD, so that's pretty cool.

We all know how dedicated bloggers like Flaconrise, Oreofestar, fantaffx, Danyafs and the many other users on IGN are. They write great blogs, clearly put effort into their blogs and don't seem to care about the number of comments they get. They are great bloggers, but they are burdened by one thing and that one thing can simply be fixed. Just look at oreo's wall, when you see it, you will see a sea of links to his blog. I humbly ask that some sort of priority following setting should exist, like when someone writes a new blog, its listed under your notifications box. It will lower the amount of effort required to alert someone of the writers blog and people  will be ale to read their favorite bloggers. I know that the newsfeed exist, but now that i'm following 90 people and a bunch of games its hard to keep track of everyone I'm following. Adding this will just makes everything much better for the blogging community, so implement this and stop stuff like this! (scroll down a little when you get there.)

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
  1. Do universal 3DS chargers exist, her son lives in Ghana an American plug will fry there.
  2. Besides a charger what other important things for the 3DS should she buy? (Well of course games)
  3. Is the XL version really worth it, she wants to save money.
  4. Is it region locked, again he lives in Ghana.

When I made an account on IGN, I really didn't think I would make it this far. For some reason I had a feeling that I would be that guy, you know that guy who creates an account and leaves after a few weeks. Then I found out that IGN had a great community, people who actually taught me to update wikis, create blogs and actually seemed to treat my comments with respect. Unlike a certain website (looking at you youtube), Sure I was insulted once or twice in an article, but never in a blog. I think the main part of why I stayed so long is because of you guys, I really want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for accepting me into the community. Also I feel this song from a game I loved alot, is really something you should play while reading this, because it shows how I feel about the community on IGN and what I've done on this website. Playstation all-stars battle Royale: end of DLC

$

Sony Santa Monica has finally confirmed the end of PASBAR DLC. To be honest, I'm glad that they did this. It's a little annoying waiting every month to see if any new characters or stages have been announced, so its good to have closure. But of course I'm disappointed at the end of DLC-the game had a lot of DLC potential so its a shame to see it end like this. Also it looks like the game would have been better off in hands of Superbot. Two Superbot employees "leaked"  a new menu design and two stages: one of which was based on Journey and the other on Gravity Rush. I think their menu design looks way better than the current menu design.

And the updated Superbot one.

The Gravity Rush stage

And the Journey stage.

Seeing all of this makes me think, what if? What if Sony didn't drop Superbot, what if they just let them to continue to work with their game? The results would have been better I can assume since they made the game, but maybe in some other universe we're getting more DLC for PASBAR from Superbot, I just wonder... The DLC probably ended due to the poor sales of Issac Clarke and Zeus.  I didn't expect this batch of characters to be successful ( I didn't buy them due to a combination of no interest and cash) but they are cool characters no one asked for. Characters that people did ask for were Dart and Abe, who were ironically cancelled. That what Sony Santa Monica should have given us in the first place, not these guys if they wanted successful sales in DLC. In some cases nostalgia does beat out relevance, and this is one of those few cases.

Does this mean All-Stars is dead? It all depends on who your asking.  Sony Santa Monica said they would support the servers for online gameplay and I still play it competitively, so do some of my friends online ,but if your gonna drop the game because of the end of DLC that's your choice. I dunno if it was the meter build-up system, the okay-ish launch character list, poor advertisement on Sony's part or the boring singleplayer mode that sealed All-Star's fate. All I know is I had a good time with playstation all-stars and I feel it was worth that 60 dollars.

All-Stars final pic

I just hope that playstation all-stars and these developers have a future.

                                                                                                          Defenders

Reason for not beating it: I lost interest in it

Shrek EXTRA LARGE

Reason for not finishing: It stunk

Games I'm  currently making an effort to finish

Metroid Prime

Reason I left: The backtracking was out of control at times and *ironically* my memory card kept getting corrupted while playing this game.

Reason I came back: Its a very good game, I had alot of fun with it.

ICO

Reason I left: I thought it sucked

Reason I came back: I realized It Was ME who sucked at the game.

Any games you've never beaten? Any games you're trying to beat now? Tell me what the game is and I'll add your name to list along with your game.
